R.O or U.V water purifier?

Hi, I would like to buy a water purifier. I came across two different process of water purifying. I am little bit confused between RO and UV processing. which one to choose?. I am in pune and I am using tap water from pune corporation. I heard that RO process removes all the mineral in the water and it becomes a plain water with no minerals. I would like to know which technology to choose? UV or RO ? please suggest.

Can I use a Tap Water Conditioner chemical instead of a RO/DI system?

My question is, why can’t I just use a tap water conditioner, such as Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Tap Water Conditioner, or Top Fin Water Conditioner instead of purchasing a RO/DI water system for my nano reef? If the RO/DI system is meant to remove all of the minerals etc, and the chemicals do the same, what’s the difference?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is drinking reverse osmosis water good for you?

I have been working in the plumbing and heating business for 35 years, and have worked in hospitals and dyalisys units. Reverse osmosis water is only transported in plastic pipe, because it "eats" copper, galvonized , iron, or even stainless pipe. My question is, if it has such an affinity to metals, wouldn’t it have the same effect on your body? Deplete minerals as opposed to providing them?
