RO System on hard Well Water?
My brother-in-law’s home is on well water witha sulfur smell and LOTS of hardness and iron. He’s currently visiting hisw parent’s home twice/week and filling carboys with city water from their spigot (for drinking /cooking).
I’ve thought of getting them an RO system for his birthday (the type that attaches under their kitchen sink). This is only for drinking/cooking water.
Does anyone out there have any recommendations or experience with these RO systems?

Brown Algae in my saltwater fish tank, but no access to RO water.. what next?
Ok, truth is, I HAVE access to RO water, but my tank is on the 3rd floor of my apartment complex. Carrying those jugs up every week is such a pain. Are there any OTHER solutions to my problem?
I have a 29 gallon tank with only base rock, 2 clown fish and a small foxface rabbit fish "Fish-Only Tank" I change 5 gallons of my water every week. It grows back within a day or two.
I’ve been looking at those RO systems online, but I just can’t put down the money for one of those right now.
Any ideas?

Do reverse osmosis water filtration systems use a lot of electricity?
I was thinking about getting a reverse osmosis water filter for my condo. I was told that RO systems use a lot of electricity. From my understanding, RO systems use water pressure to pull the water through the filter membrane.
Do RO filters systems use a lot of electricity to pump the water through the filter membrane? Or is it just the pressure from the tap?
