Is RO/DI water necessary in a FOWLR marine setup?

I am planning on getting a 30 gallon saltwater aquarium with a power filter, skimmer, heater, ect. I am aware of all the items needed for a saltwater setup. I know that you dont need RO water for a Fish only setup, or most FOWLR setups. I know it is needed for a reef setup. This is all the info I can gather from many websites and a few books. Can I use a conditioner to remove heavy metals, chlorine, chloramine, ect. from the tap water, then add a good salt mix (instant ocean), then age the water and add to tank during water changes, or set up. I know to use conditioned freshwater for top off. Will the conditioned tap water be safe for invertebrates such as cleaner shrimp, hermit crabs, emerald crabs. I know you need it for corals but I cant find info telling me if I need the RO water for inverts such as shrimp or crabs?

Is drinking RO/DI (reverse osmosis/distilled) water bad for you?

I HATE water but have found that I like room temp. RO/DI water that we intially got for the fishtanks. Other than not having Flouride is it bad for you to be too pure? It’s amazing how green tap water comes out looking in a white bucket compared to the ice blue water from the RO/DI unit.

Does the GE Smart Water filter, filter the ice too?

I have a GE Side-by-Side Adora edition, I was wondering if the filter that we buy for it filters the water AND ICE. We have a separate water dispenser because the water in Las Vegas doesn’t taste right. However we still do use the ice that our fridge produces which is connected to the tap water. Does anyone know?

    R.O or U.V water purifier?

Hi, I would like to buy a water purifier. I came across two different process of water purifying. I am little bit confused between RO and UV processing. which one to choose?. I am in pune and I am using tap water from pune corporation. I heard that RO process removes all the mineral in the water and it becomes a plain water with no minerals. I would like to know which technology to choose? UV or RO ? please suggest.

Can I use a Tap Water Conditioner chemical instead of a RO/DI system?

My question is, why can’t I just use a tap water conditioner, such as Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Tap Water Conditioner, or Top Fin Water Conditioner instead of purchasing a RO/DI water system for my nano reef? If the RO/DI system is meant to remove all of the minerals etc, and the chemicals do the same, what’s the difference?

Thanks in advance for your help.
